The S Files: Ep 52

The schedule has changed & the episode almost didn't happen but the Tinman & Shabs made sure we got there in the end.

Episode 52 covers the sporting week in a way the general media doesn't.

The cricket is creating more headlines and maybe the Tinman should have fired up more when he blasted Aleem Dar & his very suspect efforts at umpiring. Is it corruption, incompetence or cheating? We ask you.

The NRL is getting back into swing with the inaugural 9's competition. The Warriors, who were not only heavily backed as favourites, but also had the umpires & commentators behind them, choked in the semi. You can only imagine how happy we were to see a Cowboys vs Broncos final.

We never forget to mention the Boston 13's who we are proudly sponsoring this season & also on board as Gold members. Be part of something great and for $10us you too can be a member. Give up 2 coffees or beers this week & jump on board.  Check them out here.  http://boston13s.com/

The midcast song is, as always, an Australian song. We will always feature Aussie songs and if you know anyone that would like their song featured please let us know.

After the break it is time to let the Shabs loose on rugby. And with the Reds getting up over the Brumbies he was certainly in the mood

When we talked the world game, our Roma connection, Guilio had joined us. We always touch base with how things are going in the A-League & EPL. For the record, ADP dived!

The Awards always wrap things up and if you ever have an nomination let us know anytime.

Also, did you know we are getting shirts made up?

The S Files - Episode 51

We made Guilio an honoury Bundy Big Dogg!!

The S Files this week with the Tinman & Shabs and special guest Guilio all the way from Roma.

The cricket is on and Australia are giving the South Africans the same treatment the Pommies received and it is great viewing. I wouldn't be surprised if a few players from England watchinghave since started having recurring nightmares. Will the fallout from the South African camp be jsut as bad by the end of the series. Especially considering how poorly they have handled Mitch Johnson after boasting before the series that they were not scared of him.

The Auckland 9's is under way and we take a little look at the tournament. With little known about the concept, just which team will win and what is the right sort of team to take in. Tinman was backing Brisbane to do well. Either way I am sure we will have plenty more to talk about next week.

We have a small update on the Boston 13's but as the season gets closer we will bring regular & better updates on how they are going. Season is still a few months away.

The midsong break is a nice little ditty from the Hilltop Hoods.

After the break, we get straight into the Shabs foray as he talks rugby and in particular the Reds. The season is not far from starting.

Football is always a great topic & with the Roar & Liverpool going well we really should have spent longer talking about it. Our guest from Roma, Guilio, gives his thoughts on how his beloved Roma are going and he is not impressed.

The Awards always wrap things up and the Shabs & Tinman unload on some worthy recipients this week.  For something different the closing song was a live recording taken at the Cove after the podcast by local talent Mark. As you can tell the Shabs was caught out by this one. Also apologies if the audio is a little out as it seems we are still getting used to the equipment.

The S Files: Episode 50

The Tinman & Shabs enjoyed a few beverages again at the Coral Cove Bar & Restaurant in this weeks edition of The S Files.  We were also joined by an international guest all the way from Roma - Guilio.

You know you are really enjoying what you do when you reach the 50th episode and totally forget to mention it.

Once all formalities were aside & we made sure we had hit record it was straight to the cricket. With the Big Bash final on after we finished all talk was about how great it is to see that as the Heat didn't make it at least there was no team from Sydney & Melbourne.

The Australian team has landed in South Africa in what will be a greater challenge than England posed & it may be a quick reality check. It will be interesting to see how the tour goes.

The Super Rugby season is not far off and with the Shabs having the pleasure of meeting Saia Fainga'a this could be a sign of big things to come for the Reds. With the trials starting it will be interesting to see who gets a start in the first game with news that Harris will be getting a run first up with Quade Cooper. Rocket Rod Davis is also back after an injury lay off & big things could be coming his way if he can stay fit.

The mid-cast song is a great cover of the Easybeat's 'Friday On My Mind' by the Rubens.

This gave us time to prepare for the NRL section. Things are heating up for the season but unfortunately yet again the NRL is having a shocker of an off season. With a young player at West Tigers having his contract torn up after a stupid decision to write something offensive during a school visit, we look at how there is no consistency from club to club in the NRL. Let's just say that if he was a high profile player or from Newcastle all he would of had to do was apologise.

On a positive note we progressed in our effort to help & promote the Boston 13's and the Tinman has proudly become a Gold Member & we will be sponsoring a player for the 2014 season. We are really looking forward to covering a great season.

There was a little talk about the NFL Superbowl before we talked about the real world game, Football.  We were joined by our Roma guest Guilio who gave great insight into what he has seen in just a couple of A-League games and we look forward to plenty more comments. The Roar are stuttering but still managing to win or draw games that most teams would not. They almost have one hand on the Premiership & will be hard to beat from here.

The Awards always wrap it up & ASADA yet again cops a blast. Tune in to hear who else features.

As always thanks for listening!!

The S Files : Episode 49

All new equipment & most questions were wanting to know Tinman's Keno numbers. By the way he did win again.

After a slight delay we got the pubcast under way at the Grand Hotel Bundaberg. With the rain pouring down outside and the remnants of a cyclone further North it brought back memories of this time last year. Maybe that is the reason the Tinman forgot to hit record and after a few minutes we realised we had to start all over again.  Maybe it was also the excitement of the new Apogee mic for the recording too. Either way we eventually got it right.

The Cricket season is still going and it still the same old story, Australia play England, Australia beat England & Australia keep making very ordinary selection decisions that are not based on form or statistics in any way.

It is back to the mid cast song as refreshments are needed and w chose a slightly longer one as the crowds had gathered.

Rugby League is in the headlines pre-season yet again for all the wrong reasons, there is an underlying theme that is the Newcastle Knights as well. But it seems that no matter how much a player stuffs up they think all they have to do is say sorry & the club takes no action. Will the NRL get serious this year? Especially considering their own referees are also in the media spotlight now too.

During the week we made the decision that we would not only follow the Rugby League Season in the USA but we would focus on one team. We will be bringing you weekly updates on the Boston 13's who are looking to have a big year this year & winning the Title is the main goal. The season kicks of in May but we will bring any news we can and look forward to covering Boston for a long time & also help raise the profile of the Rugby League scene in the USA.

In the Round Ball Segment we talk about the Brisbane Roar & Liverpool FC. Is there a team that can seriously challenge the Roar this year?  Liverpool are doing well but need to keep winning games to make sure they stay in the top 4 but the 4-0 drubbing in the Derby against Everton is a good sign.

The Awards always wrap it up and there are a few god nominations this week.

Enjoy & spread the word.
