Bulls Keep Rolling

The Queensland bulls are now three outright wins from three games and the third was another convincing team performance.    Sent in on a green pitch that almost looked like part of the outfield Queensland put on a handy score (273) and Paulsen was unlucky not to get a century being left unbeaten on 90.

This is where WA found out how hard to bat on this pitch was and never looked like scoring a competitive total with a Queensland attack firing on all cylinders.  Bowled out for a lowly 221 WA were never going to get a chance to get back in the game.  Queensland powered on in the second innings to score 9/341dec with centuries to Borad and Forrest and it was only the chase of quick runs that led to wickets falling.  At this stage it was starting to look like the pitch was evening out and WA would be able to hold on to a draw with only 2 sessions and a bit.  Not to be though as Queensland and mainly Ben Cutting (5-43) tore through the WA lineup and skittled them before tea for 201.

This is another emphatic win for the Bulls and considering that they did not have Harris or Hopes this team can only get better.  What will be interesting this summer is whether any of these players get a mention in the media for National selection.  Broad is turning into a consistant class opener and Cutting is surely on the verge of a call-up.  Maybe a Blue cap on their head and the media talk would be different.
